Clear-cut 2-0 victories in the last round of matches of day one at Dreamhack Masters Dallas have seen Windigo eliminate TYLOO in last place and FaZe advance to the playoffs over Ninjas in Pyjamas.
FaZe chose Dust2 to start their upper-bracket series against Ninjas in Pyjamas, who are still missing Dennis "dennis" Edman at DreamHack Masters Dallas while Faruk "pita" Pita is standing in for his team. Håvard "rain" Nygaard kicked it off with a quad-kill in the pistol round, which set the pace for much of the first half, as the European mixture recently bolstered by Filip "NEO" Kubski raced to a 7-1 lead as CT.
Key plays from Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, Fredrik "REZ" Sterner, and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg then helped Ninjas in Pyjamas secure three in a row, but they still found themselves trailing 5-10 come halftime. FaZe booking the second pistol round spelled a quick ending to the first map, with the favorites locking it down 16-6.
Ninjas in Pyjamas's pick of Nuke certainly didn't pay off, with FaZe immediately taking control on the CT side as the first nine rounds went their way comfortably. The newest addition, NEO, looked in great form while the European side continued to dominate despite dropping a couple of rounds, switching over to the offense at 13-2. The Swedes found a way to the first five rounds when they got on the defense, but once FaZe broke through once, it was all over as they strolled to a smooth win at 16-7.

In Group A's lower bracket, Windigo and TYLOO fought for survival, with the Bulgarian side starting strong on their opponents' pick, Inferno. Although Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand's team began their Terrorist side with a pistol round win and a 3-0 lead, Windigo quickly took over when they had access to full weaponry, with Valentin "poizon" Vasilev, Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov, and stand-in Buğra "Calyx" Arkın finding key openings and multikills en route to a huge 11-4 half.
YuLun "Summer" Cai stepped up with a triple-kill in the second pistol round to keep his team afloat, but they were soon up against the ropes when the young Bulgarian duo put up two doubles in the following round. With their backs against the wall, TYLOO held on for a while, but a couple of well-placed executes closed the opening map at 16-9.
A chaotic offense on Overpass worked just as well against the Chinese-Indonesian squad, who were unable to find the key to the defense, with only four rounds going their way while poizon & co. got away with a dominant first half. This time, Windigo won the second pistol round to finish off their opponents in quick fashion, emerging victorious at 16-4, 2-0.
